Contributions to SOARS
Mary Barth (joint appointment with ACD) and Wojciech Grabowski jointly sponsored SOARS
(Significant Opportunities in Atmospheric Research and Science) student Darnell Powers in
his project on processes that influence chemistry in stratocumulus clouds.
Non-Technical and Educational Outreach Activities

individuals are given an opportunity to learn more about atmospheric and computer science
at a national center in addition to being employed during their undergraduate or graduate
schooling. MMM student assistants in FY 97 were James Besha, University of Colorado; Rick
Graves, University of Colorado; Tina Martinez, Colorado School of Mines; Arthur Mizzi,
University of Colorado; Alexi Rakow, Colorado State University; and Martin Venticinque,
University of Colorado.
